I came home with candy to hand out on Halloween. I got a variety of candies and suckers for .98 cents a pound - what a bargain. Then, my son informed me that I had to go back to the store to get the good, name brand candy bars, which run $5 a pound. He said that we live in a nice neighborhood, and the kids come here and expect to get the good stuff.
"Shouldn't the little beggars be grateful for what they get?" I said.
"No. If you give them crap candy, they'll egg your house," son said.
Well, okay then. Back to the store I went to get the expensive candy. Good to know the rules of Halloween.
